Kṣitigarbha Bodhisattva Mobile Phone Accessory
Staff is a tool carried by monks.
The big ring and several small ones attached to it make clinking sound while the monk is walking, thus repelling snakes or other harmful insects that stand in his way.
The sound also serves to alert people while the monk is going on his daily alms round.
Today, the staff is regarded as a ritual implement.
Kṣitigarbha (Earth Treasure) Bodhisattva also carries a staff, which he uses to force open the gates of hell in his quest to save all sentient beings. (Information from the Hong Kong Buddhist Association)
