Everyone cherishes the Bija (Seed Syllables) written by Venerable Master Hueiguang.
After a long and devoted effort, we have finally transformed Venerable Master Hueiguang's Sanskrit calligraphy into sacred floral carvings - gracefully crafted by Shaojun using seeds and leaf shapes from the Chinese tallow trees within IBS.
These unique Bija (Seed Syllables) Couplets are a blessing from the monastery. We hope you will place them in a serene corner of your home, where they may invite the protection of the Buddhas at all six times of day, bringing auspiciousness day and night.

What Are Bija (Seed Syllables)?
They symbolize the profound vows of each Buddha and Bodhisattva - embodying the supreme merits of perfected compassion and wisdom.
What Is “San-ka” (Flower Scattering)?
Rooted in ancient temple rituals, flower scattering is a sacred offering to the Buddhas, a gesture of reverence and prayer. In Japan, each temple often has its own unique style of san-ka.
At IBS, our Bija (Seed Syllables) Couplets are crafted using the seeds and leaf forms of native trees - Chinese tallow, creeping vines, and neem - infused with the essence of the monastery's blessings. We welcome you to "come home" and place them in a pure space, where they may bring peace and protection.
