isumu Japanese Buddha Statue - Kichijoten
This Buddha statue is also part of the Isumu Japanese Buddhist statue series.
The Kichijoten is an important cultural property of the Joruri-ji Temple (Kyoto Prefecture). The wooden standing statue of Kichijoten is said to have been created in 1212 and belongs to the Kamakura period. It is also one of the Five Secert Buddhas, and it still retains vibrant colors and magnificent decorations to this day.
Kichijoten is often depicted as a noblewoman from the Tang Dynasty. In her left hand, she holds a wish-fulfilling jewel. Also, she has been revered by people since the Nara period.

Statues should be handled with care:
- Avoid hitting, dropping or otherwise applying pressure on the statues, since the delicate parts of the statue may be broken
- Use brushes to remove dust from the statues. Cloths etc. should not be used because the fiber can damage the smaller parts of the statues
- Do not wipe the statue with damp cloth etc. because water-soluble paint may be used
- Direct sunlight or heat should be avoided
