Buddha
The Buddha Shakyamuni is the historical Buddha, founder of the Buddhist philosophy, the word Buddha means “enlightened.”
In this Thangka, he's wearing monastic robes, he is seated atop a lotus throne on which are symbolically placed the moon.
The lotus seat which symbolizes the act of living in this world without being soiled by its imperfections.
The moon represents “upaya” means compassion.
The left hand is in the dhyani mudra (meditation mudra), representing the supremacy of an enlightened mind and wisdom, atop with a alms bowl,
Whilst the right hand is in the Bhumisparsa mudra, means “taking the earth as a witness”.
This mudra, formed with all five fingers of the right hand extended to touch the ground, symbolizes the Buddha's enlightenment under the bodhi tree, when he summoned the earth god, to bear witness to his attainment of enlightenment.

Buddha Amitayus
Buddha Amitayus or Buddha of Limitless Life is a Buddha aspect or a deity associated with meditations and mantras for a long life.
Amitayus is in Mahayana and Vajrayana considered another form of Buddha Amitabha.
It symbolizes “a long life without the misery (shoka) of disease.

Medicine Buddha
The Medicine Buddha is, as the name implies, the Healing Buddha.
According to the legend, he transformed himself into a radiant blue light Buddha at a large gathering of people and taught/transmitted the knowledge of healing and medicine. Thus, he is often depicted with blue skin.
In the traditional thangkas he is surrounded by various herbs and medicine, with halos of healing energy radiating from his head and body.
Usually the Medicine Buddha portrayed seated with a jar of medicine in his left hand, his right hand in the mudra of blessings, with a stem of a healing plant in between his thumb and forefinger.
Sometimes the Medicine Buddha is also called the Blue Buddha, or the Lapis Lazuli Light Buddha.
The Medicine Buddha mantra has powerful vibrations for healing, both mind and body healing.

Manjusri
Manjushri is the Bodhisattva of transcendent wisdom.
With Avalokitesvara and Vajrapani he protects the Tathagata family, which includes Buddha Shakyamuni.
In this thangka painting he is depicted with yellow skin, holds in his right hand a flaming sword which is the figurative weapon that destroy ignorance and transforms it in transcendent wisdom (fire is symbol of transformation).
His left hand is positioned in front of his heart holding the stem of a lotus which bears the Prajnaparamita sutra representing the realization and perfection of wisdom and intelligence.

Four-Armed Avalokitesvara
Kharchheri is also a form of Bodhisatwa Avalokiteswara.
He is white in colour, represents pure body, speech and mind.
His four armed carrying rosary in the right hand and full blown lotus in left.
The other two principal hands are raised to the chest with the palms enjoined in Namaskar Mudra with a round known as "jewel" which is regarded as a symbol of knowledge.

White Tara
White Tara was born from a tear of compassion that fell from the eyes of Avalokiteshwara.
She represents the fertile aspect of compassion, long-life & Wisdom.
Her body is white and she sits in the full lotus posture on moon and discus upon a lotus flower(UTPALA), her right hand makes the gesture of generosity.
White Tara may be easily recognized by her seven eyes: three in her face, two in the palms of her hands, and two in the soles of her feet.
White Tara's seven eyes represent the Three Gates of Complete Emancipation and the Four Immeasurables.

Green Tara
Green Tara is regarded as spiritual consort of Amoghsiddhi, the Dhyani Bhuddha.
In her left hand which hold a half -closed lotus is often blue or red color.
In the Tibetan Buddhist Tradition Tara is incarnate in all good women.

Vajravarahi
Vajra is the symbol of the diamond vehicle or Vajrayana Buddhist path.
It implies the indestructible hardness and brilliance of a diamond.
Varahi in Sanskrit means brave.
Vajravarahi has a red body, her hair and expression all exuding a powerful, whirlwind feeling.
Her left hand holds a skull bow, a symbol of great compassion and emptiness, and it is filled with the blood-red color nectar of the bodhicitta that manifests accomplishment.
Red represents desire, and the pig on her head stands for ignorance.
She has satisfied the desire for enlightenment to get rid of ego clinging obstacle.
Three eyes: She can see through the past, present and future.
Right leg: Represents Absolute truth. Her raised right leg means that she’s not bound by Samara.
Left leg: Represents Relative truth. The external meaning of stepping on the corpse is impermanence, and the internal meaning is cutting off ego attachment- “I” and “self-clinging” and greed have been destroyed, and the secret meaning is emptiness . She is totally free from the dualistic ego and clinging, realism the inseparability of samsara and nirvana.
Face tilted to the left: dharmakaya literally means Truth body, the essence of emptiness.

Vajrasattva
Vajrasattva, the esoteric aspect of the buddha Samantabhadra.
The essence of the practice is the Hundred Syllable Mantra, which invokes the blessing and protection of Vajrasattva, to purify the karma associated with body, speech and mind.

Vajrapani
He is the protector of Gautama Buddha.
Vajrapāni is extensively represented in Buddhist iconography as one of the earliest three protective deities or bodhisattvas surrounding the Buddha.
Each of them symbolizes one of the Buddha's virtues:
Manjushri manifests all the Buddhas' wisdom,
Avalokiteśvara manifests all the Buddhas' immense compassion, and Vajrapāni protects Buddha and manifests all the Buddha's power as well as the power of all five tathāgatas (Buddhahood of the rank of Buddha).
