彌陀三尊:阿彌陀佛・hrīḥ、大勢至菩薩・saḥ、觀世音菩薩・sa
Amitābha Buddha + Mahāsthāmaprāpta Bodhisattva + Avalokiteśvara Bodhisattva

Amitābha Buddha: Amitābha, also known as the Buddha of Infinite Light, made forty-eight vows to become a Buddha. He vowed to save all beings and alleviate their suffering with his boundless compassion. Those who encounter his compassionate light can avoid all suffering, and even heavy negative karma can be reduced. He is the principal Buddha of the Pure Land of the Western Paradise and is often associated with the Bodhisattvas Avalokiteśvara and Mahāsthāmaprāpta, collectively known as the "Three Saints of the Western World."

Mahāsthāmaprāpta Bodhisattva: Mahāsthāmaprāpta, also known as Bodhisattva of Great Strength, manifests universal wisdom to illuminate all beings and lead them out of the cycle of rebirth. He empowers sentient beings with supreme strength and guides them to the Pure Land.

Avalokiteśvara Bodhisattva: Avalokiteśvara, also known as Bodhisattva of Compassion, is known as the "one who observes the world's sounds and enlightens sentient beings." Avalokiteśvara benefits sentient beings in this world and immediately responds to those who wholeheartedly chant his name, granting liberation. Avalokiteśvara also fulfills the wishes of those who seek assistance.

釋迦三尊:釋迦牟尼佛・bhaḥ、文殊菩薩・maṃ、普賢菩薩・aṃ
Śākyamuni Buddha + Mañjuśrī Bodhisattva + Samantabhadra Bodhisattva

Śākyamuni Buddha: Śākyamuni, also known as Gautama Buddha, is the founder of Buddhism and is revered as the Enlightened One. He is considered the most respected thinker, educator, philosopher, and reformer of Brahmanism. He benefits and enlightens sentient beings in this world, dispelling calamities and removing all karmic obstacles, leading to the attainment of Buddhahood and the awakening of wisdom.

Mañjuśrī Bodhisattva: Mañjuśrī, also known as Bodhisattva of Wisdom, represents the embodiment of wisdom, intelligence, and eloquence. As the foremost disciple of Śākyamuni Buddha, he is considered the prince of the Dharma. Mañjuśrī, along with Śākyamuni Buddha and Samantabhadra Bodhisattva, is known as the "Three Saints of the Huayan School."

Samantabhadra Bodhisattva: Samantabhadra, known for his unwavering vows and practices, is revered for his ability to fulfill aspirations and accomplish virtuous deeds. By praying to Samantabhadra Bodhisattva, one can achieve success in fulfilling virtuous aspirations in daily life, enhance determination and practical abilities, purify negative karma and afflictions, overcome obstacles and disasters, achieve personal perfection, and possess the power and motivation to help others attain perfection.

Bhaiṣajyaguru Buddha + Sūryaprabha Bodhisattva + Candraprabha Bodhisattva

Bhaiṣajyaguru Buddha: Bhaiṣajyaguru, also known as the Medicine Buddha, is associated with healing and longevity. He resolves physical illnesses and mental suffering caused by inner ignorance, enabling beings to possess physical well-being, upright appearances, abundant resources, freedom from various obstacles, and ultimately attaining liberation. Bhaiṣajyaguru Buddha resides in the Pure Land of Lapis Lazuli, which is equal to the Western Pure Land. The "medicine" in his name symbolizes healing the minds of sentient beings and liberating them from the cycle of rebirth.

Sūryaprabha Bodhisattva: Sūryaprabha, also known as the Bodhisattva of Sunlight, represents the shining light that illuminates all beings and dispels darkness.

Candraprabha Bodhisattva: Candraprabha, also known as the Bodhisattva of Moonlight, represents tranquility, clarity, and the ability to embrace all sentient beings. Candraprabha prevents beings from being affected by the three poisons—greed, anger, and ignorance.

千手三尊:千手觀音菩薩・hrī、不動明王・hāṃ 、地藏菩薩・ī
Avalokitêśvara Bodhisattva with a Thousand Arms + Acalanātha, the Immovable King + Kṣitigarbha Bodhisattva

Avalokitêśvara Bodhisattva with a Thousand Hands: Avalokitêśvara, also known as the Thousand-Armed Avalokiteśvara, represents boundless compassion and unlimited wisdom. The "thousand hands" symbolize the vast and compassionate actions of Avalokiteśvara, while the "thousand eyes" represent all-seeing wisdom. Avalokiteśvara protects and supports beings with a thousand hands.

Acalanātha, the Immovable King: Acalanātha, also known as the Immovable King, is the principal deity among the Five Wisdom Kings. Acalanātha's vow is to awaken the Bodhi mind in those who see his image, eradicate evil and cultivate good in those who hear his name, grant great wisdom to those who hear his teachings, and attain Buddhahood by understanding his mind. Acalanātha protects the Dharma and beings by subduing negative forces and obstacles.

Kṣitigarbha Bodhisattva: Kṣitigarbha, also known as the Earth Treasury Bodhisattva, is named after his qualities of immovability, patience, and profound contemplation. Paying homage to Kṣitigarbha Bodhisattva, or reciting the Kṣitigarbha Sutra, can bestow great wisdom and increase blessings and longevity. It also brings 28 kinds of benefits and merits, including the protection of heavenly dragons, keeping us away from suffering, disasters, and illnesses, and granting us abundance in clothing and food, health and longevity, intelligence and wisdom, and the fulfillment of our wishes. It is a particularly rare and excellent practice.

五佛・āṃḥ:
The Five Buddhas

Located in the Zhongtai Baye Temple, the Five Buddhas are represented by the following symbols:
Ratnacakra Tathāgata (Amitābha Buddha): Represents the development of the mind and the aspiration for enlightenment. Amitābha Buddha is associated with the Pure Land, a realm of bliss and liberation.
Vairocana Tathāgata: Represents the practice of the Dharma, the path to awakening. Vairocana Buddha embodies the wisdom and radiance of the Dharma, illuminating the darkness of ignorance.
Amitāyus Tathāgata (Amitāyus Buddha): Represents the attainment of enlightenment and the realization of the ultimate truth. Amitāyus Buddha embodies infinite life and wisdom, granting beings longevity in their spiritual practice.
Ratnaketu Tathāgata (Akṣobhya Buddha): Represents the state of tranquility and equanimity attained through the practice of meditation. Akṣobhya Buddha symbolizes the immovable and unshakable nature of the mind.
Mahāvairocana Tathāgata: Represents the culmination of the path to enlightenment and the attainment of Buddhahood. Mahāvairocana Buddha embodies the primordial wisdom and the realization of the ultimate truth.

六觀音:sa, hrīḥ, hāṃ, ka, bu, hrīḥ
The Six Guanyin

The Holy Guanyin (Avalokiteśvara):
Also known as the True Guanyin, she embodies the totality of great compassion.

Thousand-Armed Guanyin (hrīḥ):
This form of Guanyin represents the compassionate and skillful means to help all sentient beings without obstruction.

Horse-Headed Guanyin (hāṃ):
With a compassionate heart, she destroys all demonic obstacles and uses the great wheel of light to dispel the darkness of ignorance and consume the afflictions of sentient beings.

Eleven-Headed Guanyin (ka):
This form of Guanyin liberates beings from all illnesses and guides them to see the Buddha at the time of death, ensuring they do not fall into the realms of suffering.

Cundi Guanyin (bu):
Cundi Guanyin represents the virtue of purity. She is associated with averting calamities, seeking wisdom, healing illnesses, and protecting and upholding the Dharma. She is also known for extending the lifespan and providing protection for those with short lives.

Wish-Fulfilling Wheel Guanyin (hrīḥ):
This form of Guanyin holds a wish-fulfilling jewel and a Dharma wheel to alleviate the suffering of all sentient beings and fulfill their wishes.

大黑天・mhklya:
Mahākāla

Mahākāla, meaning "Great Black," is an important protector deity in the tantric tradition. He is associated with healing illnesses and providing wealth and prosperity.

般若菩薩・dhmmiḥ
Prajñā-pāramitā

Prajñā-pāramitā, also known as the Perfection of Wisdom, is a bodhisattva associated with transcending to the other shore through wisdom. Prajñā-pāramitā is revered in various Buddhist traditions, including Zen, Pure Land, and Tiantai, and is considered a guardian deity of the Diamond Sutra and the Heart Sutra.

不動明王・hmmāṃ:
Acalanātha

Acalanātha, also known as the Immovable King, is a deity who vows to awaken the bodhi mind in those who see his image, eradicate evil and cultivate good in those who hear his name, grant great wisdom to those who hear his teachings, and attain Buddhahood by understanding his mind. His fierce appearance is meant to awaken beings who are stubborn and deluded, and to frighten away obstacles and demonic forces, ensuring that beings remain steadfast in their practice and maintain a mind of enlightenment.

般若智・jña:
Prajna Paramita

Prajna Paramita, meaning "wisdom," is compared to a lamp that illuminates all perceptions and knowledge. It enables understanding of dependent origination, the cessation of afflictions, and the liberation from bondage. With one's own power of observation, one can choose the correct path.
